The active data matrix is a temporary data structure inside Wintrack
that you use while processing the statements of a custom variable definition
file in order to analyze case documents. The data matrix consists of
cells that are arranged in rows and columns. The active data matrix
has an associated selection mask, a second data structure in which the
selection state of each cell of the data matrix is represented by a
binary On/Off value. In a custom variable definition file, you use the
Include and Exclude statements to select
and deselect cells in the data matrix. Using the Memory
statement you can build collections of up to 50 data matrices and
selection masks for later reuse in other variables.

variable definition files to learn more on custom data analysis
in Wintrack.
