Analyze Case Document command
How to analyze case documents...
Wintrack offers two levels of analysis. Selecting from a list of predefined
variables is the easy way to analyze data. The hard way involves creating
and debugging custom variable definition files and associated custom
setup files. This takes time and requires knowledge about the syntax
of these files, but offers additional flexibility and power. For example,
using custom variable definitions, you may produce colored bullets which
are drawn over the path in the case window in order to graphically visualize
the values of a variable. You also can calculate profile variables,
surface variables, determine path similarity, and compute the number
of trials it takes to reach a given criterion.
- If you plan to process custom variables, make sure you have prepared
a custom variable definition file and a custom setup file.
- If you wish to add the analysis results to an existing scrollsheet,
make sure it is open and placed on top of any other open scrollsheet.
If you wish to write the results to a new scrollsheet, Wintrack will
create it automatically.
- Open the case document you wish to operate on and make sure it is
the active document.
- Select Analyze Case Document from the Analysis Menu.
- To analyze a selection of Wintrack's predefined variables, one of
Wintrack's predefined arena types must be active. On the other hand,
custom variable definition files refer to a custom setup file which
must be loaded before they can be processed. If necessary, Wintrack
may automatically display a dialog and prompt you to load a custom setup
file or to select a predefined arena type.
- The main dialog box appears. Press the Help button if you need instructions
on how to fill in the dialog box fields. Fill in the fields that are
not grayed or accept defaults and press Ok to continue. Or press Cancel
to abort.
- Wintrack will analyze the active case document and add the results
to the topmost open scrollsheet or create a new scrollsheet, depending
on the selections you made in the dialog.
- You may repeat steps 3.-7. as many times as you wish to accumulate
analysis results from several cases in the same scrollsheet.
