Save Case Document As dialog

How to fill in the dialog box fields...

Fill in the dialog box fields as indicated below. You may also accept presented default values and options. Disregard grayed fields and options. When done, press Ok to continue. Or press Cancel to abort.

case document file
Use this file field to specify the name and location of the file you want to save to. You may specify Wintrack case files (.WTR), ASBA Wild & Leitz™ files (.RAW), and text format files (.TXT). If Wintrack recognizes a valid extension as you type, the Format field will be set automatically.

trial range
If you are saving to a Wintrack case file (.WTR), use this range field to indicate a range of trials to be saved. Type all if you want to save all data. If you selected a range of trials in the active case document before invoking the command, the field will display that range as default.

Format
Use the radio button field to select a format for the file. The extension of the filename in the case file field will automatically be updated:

  • normal = Wintrack case files (.WTB),
  • text = text format (.TXT),
  • ASBA = ASBA Wild & Leitz™ format (.RAW).

Options
If you are saving to a Wintrack case file (.WTR), you use this check box field to select or deselect any of the following options:

  • append to existing trials = append data to an existing file rather than overwriting it,
  • save time window only = instead of saving entire trials save only the data in the respective visible time window.
  • save path in scaled units = store coordinate values in real world metric units. Recommended if experiments are not conducted in an enclosed arena, as it is the case with homing pigeon releases. When reopening a file that was saved with this option active, position and appearance of the path may change depending on the current arena definition.

sampling interval [s]
If you are exporting to ASBA Wild & Leitz™ format, you must use this number field to indicate the proper sampling interval.
